Danh Vo, Socle du Monde, 2010
06.11.10 - 13.03.11
The exhibition Socle du Monde – Between Cultures is the fifth instalment of the Socle du Monde biennial, hosted now for the first time at Herning's new museum of art, HEART.
Socle du Monde has a firm framework for its overall processes and approach: To establish co-operation between artists and businesses, institutes of education, or other public institutions, and this year the Socle du Monde biennial bears the title Between Cultures. With this title the biennial wishes to focus on interculturalism, i.e. on cultural exchanges between people and groups with different cultural backgrounds.
The exhibition brings together a wide range of artists from all over the world. Each in their own distinct manner, the participating artists embody and unfold the intercultural perspective to exhibition visitors, identifying present-day tracks within the arts and tracing them back to their roots in the 1960s.
14 Danish and international artists participate in Socle du Monde 2010. The artists are: Christian Danielewitz, Christian Botale, Danh Vo, Hesselholdt og Mejlvang, Ismar Cirkinagic, Jannis Kounellis, Jens Haaning, Jette Hye Jin Mortensen, Joachim Hamou, Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen, Marcelo Viquez, Nedko Solakov,Kimsooja og Thierry Geoffroy.
